Mellisa Gillies

Mellisa Gillies has over 20 years experience in media and entertainment companies. Ms. Gilles most recently served as Associate Director, Licensing and Brand Services, ACP Magazines. She managed consumer product licensing, developing products in 19 categories, international magazines, such as CLEO South Africa, developed a global magazine licensing strategy and implemented revenue generating concepts through phone and mobile interactivity. Working across platforms Ms. Gillies managed intellectual property, cross-media integration and developed branded content concepts.

Ms. Gillies contributed to development of the mobile market in Australia through regulatory drafting of classification of mobile content, developing industry self-regulatory guidelines for mobile services and most recently as the 2008 chair-of-judges for the Mobile Marketing Awards.

Prior to ACP, Ms. Gillies consulted to television, radio and entertainment companies including the industry television award program TV WEEK Logie Awards, Virgin retail, Warner Music International and national radio program Hot30 Countdown!

During her 12-year tenure at Twentieth Century Fox Film Distributors and a joint venture with Columbia TriStar Pictures she held various executive level positions in marketing, promotion and publicity. Highlights from over 350 films include campaigns for Titanic, the 20th anniversary of the Star Wars trilogy, Independence Day and The Full Monty plus receiving an Award for Excellence in Marketing Communications from the Public Relations Institute Australia and the media campaign for Romeo & Juliet being awarded a Media Federation Award.

Ms. Gillies holds a Master’s of Business Administration (Executive) from the Australian Graduate School of Management and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Victorian College of the Arts.
